Cardiologist Subir Shah, DO, Joins Loyola Medicine
Subir Shah, DO, a general cardiologist who treats a range of heart conditions, has joined Loyola Medicine.
Subir Shah, DO, a general cardiologist who treats a range of heart conditions with an emphasis on patient education, has joined Loyola Medicine.
Dr. Shah’s clinical expertise includes preventive cardiology, chest pain, high cholesterol, cardiac
complications of pregnancy, cardiomyopathies, geriatric cardiology and heart
failure.
Dr. Shah said his specialty enables him to get to know his patients and their families and provide
continuity of care. He enjoys educating patients on how making lifestyle changes such as diet and exercise can improve their risk factors and sometimes enable them to stop taking medications.

“I love talking to patients and their families,” Dr. Shah said. “Educating patients about their disease is one
of the most important aspects of medicine.”
Dr. Shah sees patients on Loyola’s main campus in Maywood and at the Loyola Center for Health at Homer Glen.

Dr. Shah earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Garden City
Hospital in Garden City, Michigan. He is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine.
Dr. Shah is an assistant professor in the division of cardiology, department of medicine of Loyola University
Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
