HINSDALE, IL – The online fundraiser for Hinsdale Central High School Principal Bill Walsh's son has drawn another $56,000 since late last week.

When Patch reported Friday on the GoFundMe page, it had collected $88,576. As of Tuesday afternoon, the donations were at $144,544. The goal is now $200,000.

On Nov. 20, the principal's son, Dylan Walsh, fell. This is in addition to the conditions he already suffers, which means surgical repairs cannot be done, according to the GoFundMe page.

"Your outreach makes a huge impact on his outlook on life, your strength feeds his desire to overcome this trauma and experience all he can in life," the family said.

In his fall, Dylan suffered five bone fractures, which would usually be treated surgically, the GoFundMe page said.

But because Dylan suffers from lymphangiomatosis and Gorham-Stout disease, he is unable to undergo surgical repair, according to the page, which was set up by Meaghan Walsh.

The money being raised is for necessary home equipment to care for Dylan, Meaghan said.
