Clarendon Hills Families Set Sail In Cardboard Boat Regatta

CLARENDON HILLS, IL — Nearly a dozen families participated in the Clarendon Hills Park District's Fourth Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta on Saturday, August 5 at the Lions Park Pool. According to the park district, the crafts, made of cardboard and duct tape, set sail in the lap lane of the Lions Park Pool.

The Quealy family in their "Mario Bros." boat was judged as the "Fastest Vessel" in the competition. The Lambke family, who created a craft named "Purple People Eater" for the event, received the "People's Choice" award.

According to the park district, all sailors were treated to a continental breakfast at the contest.
