On March 26, The Birches Assisted Living is hosting an activities fair titled Come to the Fair! for Birches residents, associates, and their families. The fair is an opportunity for The Birches community to learn more about The Birches’ diverse selection of activities and clubs, and to inspire them to try something new.
“Come to the Fair! is an effort to allow different interest groups to communicate their topic of interest to others in the community – especially to residents and their families,” said Birches Executive Director Jim Curto.
Some of the clubs and activities represented at the fair will include the Stamp Club, the Gourmet Club, the Scrabble Club, the Men’s Club, flower arranging, movie night, yoga, sing-alongs, and personal training.

Each club or activity will have a display explaining what occurs in the group, and many will also have a designated representative available to answer questions about the group. Sign-up sheets will be available for those who are inspired to join a new club or activity.
“One reason for communicating and sharing information in this way is simply to show others what they are doing in their particular group. Another reason is to recruit others to that group to build friendships and to explore new interests,” said Curto.

Half-way through the hour-long fair, club and activity representatives will have an opportunity to use a microphone and briefly explain their group to all attendees.
Come to the Fair! will take place on Wednesday, March 26 between 5:30 and 6:30 pm in The Birches Fireside Room. For more information about the fair or The Birches’ activities and clubs contact Activity Director Katie Klitchman at katie@birches.net or 630-789-1135.
