District 181 Earns National And State Honors for Communications

District 181 has earned several awards for communications projects in the 2013 National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Publications and Electronic Media Awards Program. NSPRA competition included nearly 900 entries from public and private schools across the country. The District’s entry of the Fall 2012 Community Engagement event podcast won an Award of Merit. The podcast was created by Superintendent Dr. Renée Schuster and produced by Assistant to the Director of Communications Audrey Galvin.

 

In the statewide Communications Contest sponsored by the Illinois Chapter of NSPRA (INSPRA) with more than 150 submissions, District 181 earned an Award of Merit for the December 2012 Keynote presentation for the Board of Education by the Advanced Learning Task Force. The presentation was created by the Department of Learning and designed by Galvin. An Award of Merit was also earned for the District’s weekly staff e-newsletter Colleague Connections, produced by Galvin and Director of Communications Bridget McGuiggan.

“The contest recognizes the amazing communications work done by our members,” said INSPRA President Mary Todoric. “It also is yet another form of professional development offered to INSPRA members, as each person who enters receives valuable feedback from the contest judges.”
