Community Consolidated School District 181 community members have the opportunity to review and comment on the recommended foreign language support materials for Grades 6-8.
District 181 teachers and administrators collaborated with Hinsdale Township High School District 86 to choose resources that would better prepare students for foreign language classes in high school. The materials chosen are the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt resources Bien Dit 2013 (French) and Advancemos 2013 (Spanish).
Community members are encouraged to listen to the podcast of the February 24, 2014 meeting of the District 181 Board of Education to hear the administration’s presentation of the materials. The materials are on public display now through April 18, 2014, at the District Office, located at 6010 S. Elm Street in Burr Ridge. Community input is welcomed on the provided comment sheets and will be reviewed before the adoption of said materials, which is scheduled for a vote by the Board of Education on April 8.
