District 86 Board of Education Seeking Applicants for Vacancy

The application for the position on the board will be open until Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.

The District 86 Board of Education currently has a vacancy that resulted from the resignation of Debbie Levinthal on Sept. 18. Per the Illinois School Code, this vacancy must be filled no more than 60 days after it occurred. Based on this requirement, the board’s goal/plan is to identify member Levinthal’s replacement by its meeting on Oct. 26. That individual will then serve from the date of their appointment until the date the new board is sworn in and seated following the consolidated election on April 1, 2025.

Anyone who would like to be considered for the open position on the board must submit their application by Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. The application form, which includes information about the search process and candidate qualifications, can be accessed by visiting https://bit.ly/3RRsjm3.

People who have questions about applying are encouraged to contact Deb Kedrowski, who is the board recording secretary. She can be reached at dkedrows@hinsdale86.org or (630) 655-6108.
