Hinsdale Cops Get Raises Under New Pact
Officers are set to receive more floating holiday time. This makes Hinsdale more competitive in attracting officers, the village said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police officers are getting pay raises over the next three years under a new contract.
The Village Board approved the agreement with the union at its meeting Tuesday.
The first raise is 2.5 percent, retroactive to May 1. The next two are 2.75 percent and 3 percent.

Those raises compare to an inflation rate of 8.6 percent over the last year.
The new agreement allows employees to sign up to work unscheduled shifts, according to a village memo. This will cut the amount of time that management spends filling unplanned vacancies, the village said.

The contract also adds eight hours of floating holiday time. This allows Hinsdale to remain competitive in attracting and keeping officers, the memo said.
The contract applies to all officers under the rank of sergeant.
The village said it met with the union four times to negotiate the agreement.
