Hinsdale D-86 Leader Poised To Get Raise
The board is set to vote on a salary increase for the superintendent.

HINSDALE, IL – The superintendent of Hinsdale High School District 86 is likely to get a raise.
On Thursday, the school board is set to vote on a 1.4 percent increase for Superintendent Tammy Prentiss. That would amount to a $3,600 hike, bringing her salary to $264,257.
The board was slated to vote on the increase at its meeting in late April, along with the same raise for other administrators.

But the board removed the superintendent's increase at the last minute. This was because her contract required the board to evaluate her first.
At the April meeting, Kay Gallo, a former board president, noted the contractual provision mandating the performance review. She said she informed the district of the requirement earlier the same day.

She called the proposed raise "utterly outrageous."
Gallo has become a leading critic of Prentiss, particularly over the superintendent's role involving an anti-racism consultant in January.
Gallo started a Change.org petition calling for Prentiss' ouster, which has collected more than 2,000 signatures.
The board's majority supports Prentiss, whose contract expires in mid-2024.
The next board election is in April.
