Hinsdale D86 To Pick 2nd Interim Leader
The board has not held a public discussion about filling the position.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board is planning to hire a second interim superintendent at its meeting Thursday.
In July, the board appointed Linda Yonke and Raymond Lechner as interim superintendents through this summer. On Dec. 18, Yonke unexpectedly gave five days' notice that she would resign.
At its meeting Thursday, the board is set to vote on a contract giving Yonke's replacement $1,300 a day, the amount the other interim leaders have received.

The meeting agenda indicates the new interim superintendent, like Lechner and Yonke, can work up to 120 days a year. Working more would mean the loss of a pension with the state's Teachers Retirement System.
The board has not spoken in public together about the process of filling the latest interim superintendent's vacancy. It has held one closed session since Yonke announced her departure – on Dec. 21, as part of its regular meeting.

Under the state's open meetings law, the board must hold any discussions about the process of filling a vacancy in the open.
It's possible board members spoke with each other in groups of two, which is allowed. The board may choose a candidate from the first search for an interim superintendent.
Board President Catherine Greenspon has not answered Patch's messages since taking office in May.
On Wednesday, the board is set to vote on appointing Michael Lach, an assistant superintendent in Highland Park-based Township District 113, as the new superintendent. He is likely to start in July.
In a statement Tuesday evening, even though the board had yet to vote on Lach, the district announced that he was the new superintendent.
