Hinsdale Family Searches For Lost Cat

HINSDALE, IL — A Hinsdale family is desperately searching for their missing cat after he darted out an open door on June 2. Louis is a 7-year-old male indoor cat, and he is beige, brown and gray with short hair and a long tail. The family said Louis is microchipped and weighs about nine pounds.

"Louis has been with our family since kittenhood and is our five year old son's companion. This has been so devastating to our family," owner Laura Nguyen said.

Nguyen said Louis is very friendly, but may be scared and timid right now and he has never been outside before. Louis escaped the family's home in the 400 block of East Hickory Street as they were packing the car to go somewhere, and he was able to dart out the door.

The family has contacted all the local authorities and put flyers up in their neighborhood.

"We have been walking most evenings with neighbors calling for him," Nguyen said. "We are trying to put the word out via social media, pet-finder sights, newspapers and word of mouth now."

A reward is being offered to anyone who finds or turns Louis into the police, humane society or to the family directly. Louis was last spotted on North Elm Street near the hospital on June 3.
