Hinsdale Man Accused Of Domestic Battery At Pool: Cops

The resident also punched the victim's dashboard, causing damage, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving domestic battery, BB damage, DUIs, identity theft and driving violations. Check the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Domestic battery

  • Lucas J. Bartasius, 18, of Hinsdale, was arrested at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hinsdale Community Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave., on charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He is accused of making contact of an "insulting or provoking nature" with the victim. Police also said he punched the victim's dashboard, causing damage. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

BB damage

  • A second-floor window of a house was damaged between May 28 and May 31 in the 10 block of North Quincy Street. The damage was to the outer pane, apparently caused by a BB.

DUI

  • Umesh N. Patel, 43, of Hoffman Estates, was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and 55th Street on a charge of DUI. He was on the road's shoulder with his hazard lights on. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • An erratic driver was stopped for striking a curb about 11 a.m. May 29 in the 400 block of South Washington Street. The suspect was believed to be under the influence of alcohol. The suspect submitted blood and urine samples. Charges are pending the results of a lab report.

Identity theft

  • A resident in the 800 block of North Washington Street told police Friday that a suspect forged two of the resident's checks using the resident's bank account information. The case is pending.

Drug paraphernalia

  • Julianne L. Martin, 25, of Downers Grove, was cited at 1 a.m. Saturday at Ogden Avenue and Elm Street on charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and no registration displayed. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Driving violations

  • Miguel A. Ceballos-Prieto, 44, of Chicago, was cited about 5 a.m. June 2 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue on charges of driving with a revoked license, driving a vehicle with a suspended registration and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
