Hinsdale Murder Case: DNA Testing Needed
Further DNA testing is needed in the Hinsdale murder case before a trial date can be set.

HINSDALE, IL — Dominic Sanders, the suspect in the murder of Hinsdale resident Andrea Urban, appeared in DuPage County court Monday morning and entered a plea of not guilty. No trial date has been set in the murder case, as further testing needs to be done on DNA evidence.
State prosecutors would like to test DNA found on Sanders' left shoe. However, this testing would completely consume the DNA evidence. The defense for Sanders would like an expert present at the testing to ensure its validity.
There is video evidence of Sanders wearing the same pair of shoes on the day of the murder on which the DNA was found, according to prosecutors. Judge Daniel Guerin granted the state's motion for the testing, which will need to occur before a trial date can be set.
