Hinsdale Resident Lost $7,225 In Scam: Cops

The resident reported the theft to the police department.

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale resident was scammed out of $7,225 last week after seeing a social media advertisement for a designer bag, police said.

The resident in the 100 block of East Fourth Street transferred the money to the suspect in exchange for the bag, police said. The suspect did not send the item and has not responded.

Hinsdale police said the case is pending.
