Hinsdale Store Burglarized, Suspects Chased: Police

Officers get a call about a suspicious vehicle, then they discovered the break-in, according to a report.

HINSDALE, IL – A downtown Hinsdale store was burglarized overnight Sunday, with officers chasing suspects, police said.

According to a police news release, the suspects used a sledgehammer to shatter a window of Marcus Curated Luxury Collection, 101 S. Washington St. They then climbed through the window, which is on the First Street side of the store.

A number of high-end purses and handbags were stolen, police said.

About 4:30 a.m., officers received a call about a suspicious vehicle circling downtown. An officer saw the speeding vehicle on Hinsdale Avenue and chased it on 47th Street over Interstate 294, police said. Officers then discovered the d0wntown burglary.

Police said they were investigating a number of leads in the case.
