Hinsdale Tollway Expansion Would Impact Property Values, Destroy Parks: Village
The Village delivered a resolution to the Tollway Authority opposing the expansion.

HINSDALE, IL- Hinsdale residents, elected officials and staff members have delivered a resolution voicing the community's opposition of the Illinois Tollway Authority's proposed plan to widen a stretch of I-294 near Hinsdale.
According to a release from the village, the resolution was passed unanimously by the village board, and discusses the impacts that the widening project would have on residents, businesses and homeowners.
The resolution states that the expansion would impact property values, increase noise and air pollution and destroy village parks.

Village President Tom Cauley presented the resolution to the Tollway Authority Committee, and questioned the need for the project. The village also presented a petition signed by 500 residents opposing the project.
“Our residents are, understandably, very concerned about the impact this potential project may have on our community,” said Cauley.
