Hinsdale Woman Tries To Bite Cops In DUI Arrest: Police

She was taken to the DuPage County Jail on multiple charges. It's her third DUI, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale woman tried to bite local officers last week as she was being arrested on a drunken-driving charge, police said.

Shawn N. Mullarkey, 45, who lives in the 100 block of West Walnut Street, was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated DUI, her third such violation, police said.

She also faces charges of aggravated assault on an officer, resisting an officer and possession of alcohol by a driver.

The police report indicates she was driving with a child.

The incident was reported as occurring shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday in the block where Mullarkey lives.

According to the report, officers were called about a drunken driver in town who was involved in a crash in Aurora. Mullarkey had a DuPage County warrant for her arrest.

Mullarkey refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content, police said.

Police obtained a search warrant and obtained her blood and urine samples.

She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
