Hinsdale's Low Bid Beats Village's Estimate
The village plans to resurface four streets and a parking lot at a park.

HINSDALE, IL – The low bid for this year's street resurfacing projects in Hinsdale beat the engineer's estimate, according to the village.
The village opened bids two weeks ago, with Marengo-based Schroeder Asphalt coming in lowest at $653,000.
The engineer's estimate was $676,000, while the village budgeted $700,000 for the projects.

Six companies bid on the work. The highest bid was $801,000, from Bensenville-based Lindahl Brothers.

- Monroe Street, from Sixth to Eighth streets (two blocks), rated "poor"
- Fifth Street, from Lincoln Street to Garfield Avenue (two blocks), rated "poor"
- Quincy Street, from North to Hickory streets (one block), rated "poor"
- Bodin Street, south of Eighth Street to north of Ninth Street (one block). This project is set to fix mid-block settling.
- Parking lot at Veeck Park, near 701 E. Chicago Ave., rated "poor"
Schroeder was also recently the low bidder for Burr Ridge's projects this year. It came in at $669,000, beating six other companies.
In Burr Ridge's case, Lindahl Brothers came in second at $689,000. The highest bid was from Schaumburg-based A Lamp Concrete, at $851,000.
