Jacki Rossi, the Hinsdale Humane Society's executive director, has a response.

"(T)here is a misconception that because we are located in Hinsdale in a wealthy zip code, we do not need funds. This is not true," Rossi said in an email. "Our new location has put us 'out of sight, out of mind' and we were working through those challenges when COVID hit and shut us down. These are issues that are unique to our organization."
