Hinsdale D181 Test Scores Increase In Math, English
Wealthy school districts such as Hinsdale's typically do far better than the state average.
HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale School District 181 saw hikes in its standardized test scores last school year, according to state data released last week.
In third through eighth grades, the percentage of students meeting state benchmarks on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness increased in the 2022-23 year.
In English language arts, 78 percent of students met standards, up from 72 percent a year earlier. In 2018-19, 77 percent made the benchmark.

Statewide, 35 percent of students met standards on the test's English language arts section, compared with 38 percent pre-pandemic.
In math, 74 percent of District 181's students reached the benchmark last school year, up from 71 percent in 2021-22 and 2020-21. In 2018-19, the rate was 72 percent.

Across the state, 27 percent of students met standards in math last year, down from 32 percent in 2019.
Wealthy school districts such as Hinsdale's typically do far better than the state average. Just 2 percent of District 181's students are considered low-income, compared with nearly half statewide.
