Loaded Guns Found In 2 Hinsdale Stops: Cops

In one case, a suspect possessed cocaine and methamphetamine, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Loaded guns

  • Travaris T. Parks, 21, of Chicago, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Monday at Route 83 and 55th Street on a felony charge of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. He was a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding and improper lane use. A loaded handgun was in the car. The driver, Nari Davis, 21, of Oak Park, was cited on the driving violations and released to appear in court.
  • Daniel Cortez. 34, of Round Lake Beach, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. June 29 in the 400 block of West Eighth Street on charges of felony possession of cocaine, unlawful possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a revoked license, improper lighting and driving an uninsured motor vehicle. His passenger, Peyton E. Bridgette, 30, of Burlington, Wisconsin, was arrested on a warrant. A loaded handgun was found in the car. The suspects were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Scott W. Wilson, 58, of Wheaton, was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday at Ogden Avenue and Vine Street on felony obstruction of justice, DUI, disobeying a stop sign, failure to yield and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He also refused to provide a blood and urine sample after police obtained a search warrant. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DUI

  • Hugo D. Arias, 27, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. June 28 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol, defective windshield, and illegal stopping, standing or parking where prohibited. An officer saw Arias asleep at the wheel, with his car parked on the shoulder. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. An open container of vodka was in the car. Arias was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrant

  • Arturo Osorio, 49, of Bolingbrook, was arrested about noon June 28 at Mobil gas station, 8 W. Chicago Ave., on a warrant. Police came into contact with Osorio in responding to a customer dispute. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Bicycle theft

  • A locked bicycle was stolen from a rack about 6 p.m. Friday in the Grant Square parking lot. The case is pending.

Forgery

  • Someone forged a check and cashed it against the business account of Countrywide Transportation, 211 W. Chicago Ave. The incident happened May 25. It was reported Friday.
