Man Leads Hinsdale Cops On High-Speed Chase: Police
The suspect, who was driving a stolen car, was chased through Downers Grove and Oak Brook, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – A Chicago man was arrested early Tuesday morning after leading Hinsdale police on a high-speed chase into Oak Brook.
Claude Miles, 28, was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding and one count of possession of burglary tools, police said.
About 2 a.m., a Hinsdale officer saw a 2013 Ford Fiesta with no rear license plate. The officer turned on his emergency lights and siren at Ogden Avenue and Pasquinelli Drive in Westmont, according to a news release from DuPage County prosecutors.

The officer turned off his lights and sirens but continued to follow Miles from a distance. The suspect drove through Downers Grove and into Oak Brook, where Oak Brook officers resumed the pursuit on 31st Street, police said.

Miles ran a red light at 31st and Midwest Road, where police deflated his tires with spikes, prosecutors said.
Miles then drove over the lane dividers and drove on the opposite side of the road, crossing Route 83. On Jorie Boulevard, Miles' car straddled the lane divider until he stopped near Jorie Plaza, police said.
After he was arrested, officers said they found a flathead screwdriver and a hammer in the Ford.
The car was reported stolen Feb. 16 in Chicago, police said.
"The arrest was made possible due to an alert Hinsdale patrol officer and the coordination with our law enforcement partners," Police Chief Brian King said in a statement. "Oak Brook officers reacquired the vehicle, which allowed Hinsdale officers to successfully spike the car, putting an end to the pursuit. We are grateful for the cooperation and coordination we received from the Downers Grove and Oak Brook police departments."
