More Check Forgeries Reported In Hinsdale: Cops

Sixteen checks in all were forged last week, police say.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police said they received three more reports of forgeries of checks in the last week. They received two such reports the previous week, both of which were near the latest residential ones in the 5600 block of South Elm Street. Here is the information from the latest reports:

  • A resident in the 5600 block of South Elm Street told police Wednesday that someone forged four fraudulent checks and cashed them against the resident’s bank. The incident happened Oct. 14.
  • Another resident in the 5600 block of South Elm Street told police Thursday that six fraudulent checks were cashed against his bank account. The incidents happened between Oct. 15 and Oct. 18. The resident said he mailed the checks and that the payee information and the dollar amounts were altered.
  • Molecular Imaging Chicago, 3 Grant Square, reported that six fraudulent checks were cashed against the business’ bank account on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15. The case is pending.
