A New Way To Handle Hinsdale Commuter Parking?
The village leader notes the parking lots are often empty. He suggests a way to change that.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale may change the way it charges for commuter parking downtown.

Before the pandemic, the commuter lots were full, with people going by train every weekday to downtown Chicago, he said.

Now, more spaces are available because people go only a few days a week, Cauley said.
Cauley said he parks in the lots regularly when he commutes. On a recent Friday, he said only about 15 spots out of 300 were taken.

He suggested the village shift its emphasis from monthly passes to daily. Such a move, he said, should drive up fee revenue.
Cauley said the Village Board would discuss the issue at a later meeting.
