Next Superintendent 'Honored' To Lead District 86
Tammy Prentiss will replace Dr. Bruce Law in July.

HINSDALE, IL - Tammy Prentiss, the next superintendent in Hinsdale Township High School District 86, released a statement to the school community after it was made official that she will succeed Dr. Bruce Law in the role on July 1. Prentiss is the current assistant superintendent for student services at the school.
Here's the letter she sent out in an e-mail:
To the D86 Community,
Last night, the Board voted to appoint me to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1.
I am honored by this opportunity to lead a district with such a strong reputation for excellence. I look forward to advancing the important work to preserve, protect and extend the tradition of excellence in District 86.
Having been here for the past five years as Assistant Superintendent for Student Services, I am extremely lucky to have the experience of working with our caring teachers and staff, building relationships with those who every day enable our students to maximize their potential. To the parents in our community, you have entrusted your children to us, and their education and well-being is our sacred responsibility. I am humbled by your trust and I pledge to uphold that commitment to you, our families.
My view of the future is optimistic but the reality is that we may face some challenges ahead. In April, our community will answer the question of what they will support for our students and our schools. Regardless of the answer, District 86 will do what is best for students with the resources that we have.
Throughout the next four months Dr. Law and I will work together to assure a smooth transition. I have met many of you through my work in Student Services and at referendum education events and I hope to meet and talk with you in the months ahead.
Thank you for your support.
Tammy Prentiss, Ed.S.
