HINSDALE, IL – An official on Tuesday raised the possibility of a park at an old church property in northeastern Hinsdale.

The site is at the southwest corner of Oak Street and Fuller Road. It once contained The Chapel.

At a Village Board meeting, CJ Bak, a new member of the village's Parks and Recreation Commission, said the property may be an opportunity for the village to address the lack of parks in that part of town.

"I think they have had multiple offers on the table already," Bak said. "It may be worth raising the question if it hasn't happened already."

Trustee Luke Stifflear said the property is 1.7 acres and would likely need zoning changes if something new comes in.

Village President Tom Cauley said the village could certainly think about the possibilities.

Trustee Alexis Braden said she had seen new signage on the property.

"Is there a new tenant there?" she asked.

Bak responded, "I think it's a squatter-type situation."
