Prostate Cancer Awareness Weekend

CHICAGO, IL (SEPTEMBER 11-13, 2015) – In recognition of National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in September, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago and the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center will host a prostate cancer awareness weekend from Friday, September 11th through Sunday, September 13th. The weekend will kick off with free prostate cancer screenings and will culminate with the 5th Annual Run & Walk for Prostate Cancer Awareness.

The Run & Walk for Prostate Cancer Awareness will begin on Sunday, September 13th at 7am, and will consist of a 5K run and 3K walk. It will begin and end at the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center (815 Pasquinelli Dr. Westmont). Runners, family, and friends can enjoy music, face painting, and superheroes such as Wolverine, Spiderman, Robin, Wonder Girl and more - plus $1 raffles for great prizes. Finally, all registered participants will be automatically entered into a separate raffle for various prize giveaways!

One in seven men in the United States will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, the second most common form of cancer (behind skin cancer) among men. As with other forms of cancer, early detection provides the greatest chance of cure.

This charity event supports activities such as the free prostate cancer-screening event, held at the Chicago Prostate Cancer Center, on Friday, September 11th from 7am-2pm. To make an appointment for the free screening, call 630-654-2515.

7-7:45am: Registration and Packet Pick-up
(same day registration ends at 7:45am)
8am: Race Start
9:15am: Awards Ceremony

COST: Before September 3rd - $30 Adult, $15 Child (age 6-17)
