Quality Products Rank High On Remodeling Must-haves

As homeowners make the decision to invest in their existing home instead of moving to a new one, quality products are becoming a common request during any project, especially the more detailed ones like bathroom remodels.

“Budget is always a priority with homeowners because people want to make a wise investment,” says Normandy Designer Laura Barber, AKBD.  “However, people also realize the importance of paying a little more upfront to save on maintenance issues later.  I just recently worked with homeowners on a bathroom renovation where quality products were, not surprisingly, at the top of their list; although, there was another prerequisite.”

“The homeowners not only wanted quality products, but low maintenance products as well,” commented Barber.  “We included porcelain tiles for the floors and shower, which don’t have to be sealed like natural stone.  To take the low maintenance concept a step further, we opted for large format tiles, which have smaller grout lines.  We also selected quality, but affordable Kohler fixtures for the bathroom as well.”

The National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), Chicagoland recently recognized Barber’s solution-oriented design for her Western Springs bathroom renovation with a Remodeling Excellence Award, Honorable Mention.
