Roof Fire In Hinsdale Causes $500K In Damage: Officials
The residents evacuated safely after a driver noticed the fire, officials said.

HINSDALE, IL – Firefighters responded to a house with a roof and attic on fire Monday afternoon at 323 W. North St. in Hinsdale, officials said.
The damage was estimated at $500,000. The residents were reported as evacuating safely.
About 3:30 p.m., a driver noticed the fire, called 911 and alerted the residents, according to a news release from the Hinsdale Fire Department.

Firefighters used aerial ladders to access the steep roof, where the fire was spreading among the cedar shake shingles, the news release said.
Firefighters also placed tarps to cover belongings and collect any runoff water.

A number of area fire departments responded.
The house sold for nearly $1.2 million in March 2020, according to real estate websites.
