Self Care for the Caregiver

As a caregiver, you put your client or loved one first. But taking time to care for yourself is just as important.

Jackie Raschke, Director of Education and Memory Care Services at Home Helpers in Hinsdale, will help caregivers find a proper balance between caring for themselves and caring for others during a free presentation set for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Home Helpers offices, 123 E. Ogden Ave., Ste. 102A, Hinsdale.

Raschke will discuss:

  • The impact of caregiving on a caregiver’s health.
  • How your stress affects you and the person you are caring for.
  • The importance of taking care of yourself.
  • How to make time for yourself.
  • Resources and support available to caregivers

The event is open to anyone who cares for someone, whether professionally or as a family member.
