Sign up today for Marklund Run, Walk & Roll 5k/1m

Registration is still being taken for the 2nd annual "Run, Walk & Roll for Marklund" 5k/1m event set for Oct. 26 in Geneva.

Get ready to Run, Walk & Roll for Marklund! Registration is still being accepted for Marklund’s 2nd annual 5K/1 mile event which is set for Oct. 26 in Geneva.

To register, visit www.marklund.org/5k. Participants can then follow instructions to set up their individual fund-raising pages to help raise money in support of the client care at Marklund.

“We invite adults, kids, families and those in assistive devices like wheelchairs, walkers and specialized bicycles to join in our 2nd annual Run, Walk & Roll for Marklund,” said Stephanie Heinz, Development Coordinator at Marklund. “Last year nearly 600 people participated in our inaugural event and helped us net $30,000 for programs and services for our clients so we’re looking forward to growing that number this year! It’s a fun event and is a great way for people to help make everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities.”

Winding through the quiet, picturesque South Mill Creek neighborhood, on the western edge of Geneva, the course is USATF-certified.

This event will also offer:
• Disposable bib-chip timing
• Wheelchair division in the 5K
• Gender-specific long-sleeved technical shirt
• 1-mile family walk/run where strollers and wagons are welcome
• Party in the Park after the run/walk with HOT food, LIVE music and KIDS’ activities.

Fees are as follows:
5K Run Registration: $35
5K Wheelchair Registration: $35
1 Mile Walk Registration: $25

Register before October 17th to be guaranteed a shirt!

Marklund is a not-for-profit organization that annually serves nearly 200 families throughout the greater Chicagoland area. It has locations in Geneva and Bloomingdale, as well as a resale shop in Wood Dale.
