Student Discipline At Hinsdale D86 Discussed
An unexpected closed session was held after a more than four-hour meeting.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale High School District 86 board members were prepared to leave last Thursday after a four-hour-long open meeting.
But member Peggy James asked the board to hold a closed session to discuss student discipline. It was apparently an unexpected request.
Asked whether it was old business, James said it was new.

The board voted 5-1 to close the doors, with Terri Walker dissenting and Kathleen Hirsman absent. No action was taken.
The board is allowed to hold a closed meeting to discuss specific student disciplinary matters. Privacy laws bar schools from releasing the names of students involved in such issues.
