With the cold temperatures returning this week, everyone wants a little bit of spring. Get your gardening itch out of the way with a terrarium.
Terrariums are small, indoor gardens that are planted in glass enclosures so you can observe your little garden. There are lots of types of terrariums you can plant in, and one of our favorites are the hanging terrariums.
With the growing popularity of these little indoor gardens, we decided to make one of our own.
Using one of our hanging glass bubble terrariums and two succulents [Stone Faces (Lithops species) and Mini Blue Chalk Fingers (Senecio spp 'Mini Blue')] we currently had in stock. Simply fill the base of the bubble terrarium with sand and plant the succulents directly into the sand.
Try making one of your own like ours, or choose a few of our terrarium plants that we have in stock. (You'll need to use soil for these). Terrarium plants typically come in two inch containers and are like miniature versions of houseplants you would normally see. Some of the best plants for terrariums include the polka dot plant (hypoestes), prayer plant, Irish moss, baby tears, croton, pothos and various ferns.
Whichever type of terrarium you choose to create, it should hold you over for a few more weeks before the warm weather finally gets here!
