UNIQUELY THURSDAYS ON AUGUST 11 and 7th HEAVEN RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 17th

HINSDALE, IL. – The Village of Hinsdale is hosting a silent auction of two of the iconic stoplights that controlled the one-way traffic over Hinsdale’s historic Oak Street Bridge. The auction will be held at the Uniquely Thursdays concert in Burlington Park on Thursday, August 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in conjunction with the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce.
Proceeds from the auction will be used to purchase benches for the “pocket park” created on the southwest corner of the new Oak Street Bridge.

The Village’s silent auction booth will be located on Chicago Avenue between Washington Street and Garfield Street. Last bids will be accepted at 8:15 p.m., and the winners of the two stoplights will be announced at 8:30 p.m. Bidders must be present to win. Rain date for silent auction will be Wednesday, August 17th.

The century-old Oak Street Bridge was owned and maintained by The Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Corporation until 2009, when the Village of Hinsdale committed to replacing the bridge. The Village secured funding through various local, state and federal agencies to cover one hundred percent of the cost of the bridge replacement, which was completed in December 2015.
The Hinsdale Chamber is also pleased to announce the rescheduling of the band 7th Heaven on WEDNESDAY, August 17th- same time, same place- Burlington Park. The band takes the stage at 6:30 pm
