Elgin Master Chorale Presents That This Nation Shall Live Featuring Stacy Garrop’s Terra Nostra

Event Details
Join the Elgin Master Chorale for That This Nation Shall Live, a powerful and inspiring spring concert reflecting on our connection to the land, our communities, and our shared future.
This moving program features two contemporary works by American composers: Terra Nostra by Stacy Garrop and Earth Song by Marques L.A. Garrett. Together, these pieces explore the beauty, fragility, and resilience of the earth while inviting us to reflect on our role in caring for it.
The performance will include collaborations with the Elgin Youth Choir and a children’s chorus from Hampshire Middle School, bringing together voices across generations in a celebration of music and community.
The concert is presented in partnership with The Conservation Foundation (Batavia), the Elgin Sustainability Commission, and Art for All, connecting the music to local environmental efforts and community engagement.
Before the concert, enjoy a special pre-concert talk, Beyond the Barlines, featuring composer Stacy Garrop from 2:45–3:15 PM.
Come experience an afternoon of music that inspires, connects, and celebrates the world we share.
