Police said a man grabbed the girl and tried to drag her into his car.

LOCKPORT, IL — A 15-year-old girl waiting for her school bus in Lockport Township was nearly abducted Monday when a man got out of his car and tried to grab her.
The Will County Sheriff's Office responded to Oak Avenue and Green Garden in Lockport Township for a call of attempted child abduction.
The victim told police that while she was waiting for her bus at around 6:30 a.m., a smaller, silver, 4-door vehicle drove up and parked near her. An older white male with short gray hair got out of the car, approached her and grabbed her around the waist. The man attempted to pull the girl into the car, but she was able to break free and run home, police said. The victim did not sustain any injuries.
