17-Year-Old Dragged By Car After Attempt To Steal His Phone: Homer Glen Police Reports

The following information is from the Will County Sheriff's Office. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Homer Glen

  • A 17-year-old male was walking at 7 p.m. Oct. 4 in the 17000 block of South Heritage Drive, when a black 4-door Lexus pulled up with four male suspects inside. One of the suspects asked the victim for directions and when the 17-year-old approached the vehicle, the suspect grabbed the victim's cell phone, trying to steal it. The victim held onto the phone and the suspect then grabbed the victim's arm while the vehicle began moving down the street. The victim told police he was dragged about 20 to 30 feet before the offender let go of his arm. The victim suffered facial cuts and swelling, and abrasions and bruises to his body. He was taken to Silver Cross by Homer Fire with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male with blonde hair and the front passenger was a Hispanic male with an afro and long beard.

Disorderly Conduct

  • Lance Hosman, 24, of New Lenox, was arrested Oct. 4 in the 15000 block of South Syd Creek Drive for disorderly conduct.

DUI

  • Nathanial Yarbrough, 42, of Yorkville, was arrested Oct. 6 at 151st and Eagle Ridge Drive for DUI, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to wear safety belt and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
