4 Impaired Driver Arrests Made During Labor Day Patrols: Police

174 traffic stops were conducted with 184 citations issued, according to police.

LOCKPORT, IL — During its recent Labor Day traffic safety enforcement effort, Lockport Police made four impaired driving arrests and issued 88 seatbelt citations, police said in a release.

174 traffic stops were conducted with 184 citations issued, according to police. Citations included: 26 speeding citations, one distracted driving citation, one drug arrest, four suspended driver's license and 57 other moving/equipment citations.

Lockport Police joined forces with more than 200 other local law enforcement agencies from Aug. 20 through Sept. 7 to get impaired drivers off the roads and encourage seat belt use, police said.

The Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is funded by federal traffic safety funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and administered through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
