88 Seatbelt Citations During Memorial Day Enforcement: Lockport Police

LOCKPORT, IL — The Lockport Police Department issued 141 citations during the recent Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” enforcement period, the department said in a release.
The “Click It or Ticket” campaign aims to change the behavior of the millions of people who don’t buckle up, according to a release from police.
During the enforcement period, Lockport Police said they wrote 88 citations for seat belt violations, as well as:

- Three DUI arrests
- One felony arrest
- One suspended/revoked license
- Four uninsured motorists
- 12 speeding citations
- One drug arrest
- 24 other moving/equipment citations
The Illinois “Click It or Ticket” campaign is administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation with federal highway safety funds.
