Lockport Police Issue 264 Speeding Tickets During July Enforcement

LOCKPORT, IL — During its July speed enforcement campaign, the Lockport Police Department said it issued 264 speeding citations.

The department conducted the safety traffic campaign last month to remind motorists to slow down to save lives.

During the campaign, Lockport Police Department said it also issued:

• Nine seat belt citations
• Two fugitives apprehended
• 10 suspended/revoked licenses
• Six uninsured motorists
• 44 other moving / equipment citations
• Four distracted driving citations

The speed enforcement effort was made possible by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to a news release.
