Apartment Neighborhood Proposed In Lockport: Plan Commission
There are several projects up for discussion at the March 10 plan commission meeting, including an apartment neighborhood plan.
LOCKPORT, IL — The plan and zoning commission meeting March 10 will be a busy one, with several public hearings and new business items on the agenda. According to board documents, there will be two public hearings at the meeting, one for Clover Ridge and one for the Oak Creek residential development.
Under new business, the commission will hear about several projects, including: a development plan for Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen; the final plat for Lockport Square Third resubdivision; a concept plan for a proposed 246-unit townhome and single-family community; a concept plan for Lockport Express car wash; and a concept plan for a proposed 16-unite single-story apartment neighborhood.
Redwood, 160-unit apartment neighborhood

The plan commission will also review a concept plan for Redwood, which is a 30-acre, 160-unit apartment neighborhood for the property west of Broken Arrow and east of Lago Vista. It it located south of Division Street and north of Bruce Road. The property is under new ownership, and the development would feed into Fairmont school district.
According to board documents, Redwood only builds single-story apartments with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a 2-car driveway, a patio and an attached 2-car garage.

Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen
According to board documents, the developer has submitted a proposal for a stand-alone 2,454-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru in Lockport Square at the southwest corner of 159th Street and I-355.
Lockport Express Car Wash
A concept plan for an express car wash has been submitted to the city. The car was would be at the old Pizza Hut property, at the southeast corner of Third Street and Ninth Street, according to board documents.
Steeple Chase, townhome and single-family residential development
The commission will discuss a concept plan from M/I Homes for a 90-acre property between 163rd Street and 167th Street. Board documents state most of the property is already zoned R-1 and R-2. The proposal includes 96 townhome units and 150 single-family homes.
