Attic Fire Damages Lockport Duplex Unit: Fire District

No one was injured, and the unit was unoccupied due to remodeling.

LOCKPORT, IL — No one was injured after an attic fire in a Lockport duplex on Wednesday, according to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District.

The fire was reported at 4:38 p.m. on Wednesday on West Street in Lockport. Firefighters arrived to find an attic fire in one unit of a ranch duplex, the District said.

Crews on scene were able to quickly get the fire under control and prevent any extension to the
other duplex unit, according to the fire district. The alarm was elevated to a "full still."

No one was injured, and the unit was unoccupied due to remodeling. Utilities to the unit were
disconnected; and the adjacent unit had minimal exposure and damage, and that resident was
unharmed, according to the fire district.

Investigators.
