ATVs Stolen, Man Grazed With Bullet: Homer Glen, Lockport Blotter

Homer Glen

Disorderly Conduct

  • Joe Janik, 21, of the 14300 block of South Birchdale, was arrested July 5 in the 14000 block of Birchdale for disorderly conduct and resisting a police officer.

DUI

  • David Schwark, 39, Manhattan, was arrested July 8 at I-355 and 167th Street for DUI, improper lane usage, speeding, failure to signal and failure to yield to emergency vehicle.
  • John Walters, 32, Lockport, was arrested July 8 in the 12000 block of 143rd Street for DUI, possession of drug equipment and improper lane usage.

Lockport

  • A 33-year-old man reported that on July 4 while he was standing outside his home in the 2100 block of California Avenue speaking to a friend, he heard something hit his car. He then felt an object hit him in the right thigh. He realized that a bullet had struck his vehicle and grazed his thigh, but he refused medical attention.
  • Witnesses reported hearing gunshots at about 1:20 p.m. July 5 in the 200 block of Nobes. Two males wearing masks were seen running down Barrett Street to Dellwood Avenue, getting into a red four door vehicle and fleeing the scene. Numerous shell casings were located in the area. Another witness reported seeing a blue Chevy Tahoe traveling on Nobes at a high rate of speed. Three bullet holes were found in a parked vehicle. No one reported being injured. Joliet Police reported having similar shooting incidents which potentially involved these two vehicles in their jurisdiction.

Theft

  • A storage shed was broken into and multiple tools stolen on July 7 in the 16000 block of West 159th Street.
  • Three ATVs were stolen from a yard July 10 in the 16000 block of West Bruce Road. A 1994 Yamaha Blaster 200cc: 2001 Yamaha Banshee 350cc: and a 2003 Yamaha Banshee 350cc were reported stolen.
