Catalytic Converter Thefts Reported In Lockport: Cops
The two most recent thefts happened between 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 21, police said.
LOCKPORT, IL — Five catalytic converter thefts have been reported at the Highland Ridge apartments since Dec. 18, according to Lockport Police.
The two most recent thefts happened between 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 20 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 21, police said. The suspects were driving a black Jeep Grand Cherokee.
According to police, the offenders are going underneath vehicles and cutting the catalytic converters off. The incidents appear to be limited to the complex, and officers are providing extra patrol during the overnight hours, police said.

Residents can call 911 to report any suspicious vehicles in the area. Anyone who has information about the thefts should contact the Investigations Division at 815-838-2132.
