Christmas 2017: What's Open, What's Closed In Homer Glen-Lockport

Several services and businesses will be closed on Christmas or Christmas Eve.

HOMER GLEN-LOCKPORT, IL — It's just days away from the Christmas holiday, and that means people will be out and about shopping, picking out presents and visiting family. While some people — including employees at some retail stores, as well as emergency responders — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed.

Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Homer Glen and Lockport for Christmas 2017.

  • Post office: Closed
  • Federal offices: Closed
  • Village of Homer Glen: Village offices will be closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. Garbage collection will be delayed a day.
  • City of Lockport: City offices close at 12 p.m. Dec. 22. They will reopen Dec. 26.
  • Lockport Township High School: Closed. Students return from winter break on Jan. 10.
  • Homer District 33C: Closed. Students return from winter break on Jan. 8.
  • White Oak Library District-Lockport Branch: Closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
  • Homer Township Library: Closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
  • Banks: Closed
  • Gas stations: Open
  • Retail stores: Some will be closed, some will be open, but check the hours before you go.
