District 33C Offers Blended Learning Option For The Fall

Whatever parents choose, this selection will last through the academic semester which ends in January.

HOMER GLEN, IL — Homer District 33C will offer families two choices for returning to school in the fall. Parents will be able to choose between blended learning or full remote learning.

According to the district's plan, in the blended learning option, students will attend school in-person two days a week with three days of remote learning. Early childhood students or students who receive special education instructional services will have the option of four days of in-person instruction.

Students will be split into two groups, and will alternate in-person instruction day. According to the plan, this design also follows the schedule for Lockport Township High School.

"The plans are dependent upon staffing availability and subject to change as planning evolves," Superintendent Craig Schoppe told Patch. "It is possible that the district will need to transition into a full-time remote learning model for all students at any time based on the guidance or mandates from federal, state or local organizations."
