Fire At Lockport Business Causes Minor Damage: Fire District
A fire started in a first-floor closet area where the water heater was kept, and was extinguished by a sprinkler, the fire district said.
LOCKPORT, IL — Above All Home Care, a business in downtown Lockport, sustained water damage and minor fire damage after a fire on Wednesday afternoon, the Lockport Township Fire Protection District said.
The fire district said firefighters were called to the business at 902 S. State St., at 4:52 p.m. for a smell of smoke in the building.
A fire started in a first-floor closet area where the water heater was kept, the fire district said. The fire was extinguished by a sprinkler before firefighters arrived.

There was some charring to the floor of the closet area, and some smoke soot, but damage from the fire was minor, the district said. The building did sustain some water damage due to the sprinkler activation.
The fire is under investigation by the Lockport Fire Investigators.
