First Female Lockport Police Officer Celebrates 100th Birthday

LOCKPORT, IL — Lockport and Lemont police officers, Lockport Chief Terry Lemming, and Lockport Mayor Steve Streit recently celebrated a special occasion at Holy Family Villa in Lemont.

Delores Feithan, the first female Lockport police officer, celebrated her 100th birthday on New Year's Eve, and was presented with a plaque and resolution from the Lockport Police Department.

Lemming said Feithan was first hired in 1957 and retired in 1977 from the department. At her birthday celebration, she was presented with a letter from the mayor as well as archive photos of herself in uniform.
