Forest Preserve Launches 'Where's Willy?' Scavenger Hunt
Search for mascot, Willy the Woodchuck, at four preserves through Aug. 31. Upload photos of the mascot to receive a prize.

The Forest Preserve District of Will County has scheduled a fun August program that will get you out in the preserves exploring and looking for signs of the District's furry woodchuck mascot, Willy.
The "Where's Willy? Scavenger Hunt" runs through Tuesday, Aug. 31, at four preserves:
- Hadley Valley-Bruce Road Access, Homer Glen
- Hammel Woods – DuPage River Access, Shorewood
- Kankakee Sands Preserve, Custer Township
- Messenger Woods Nature Preserve, Homer Glen
"We wanted to do a fun activity to get people out in the preserves," said Jen Guest, the Forest Preserve's recreation coordinator. "Who would be better to help lead the fun than our beloved mascot, Willy the Woodchuck? He left some clues behind in his den to help find him while he is out exploring. Join his forest preserve adventures as you follow the clues leading to some of his favorite nature hangouts."
