Homer Glen Board OKs Chase Bank Location
The Board originally denied the request in September 2025 in a 4-2 vote.
HOMER GLEN, IL — After rejecting a previous proposal for a Chase Bank to go in the former Chili's building, the Homer Glen Village Board has now approved the proposal.
The Board originally denied the request in September 2025 in a 4-2 vote. Chase Bank reapplied with "nearly identical plans," and the Board approved the proposal at Wednesday's meeting.
The only change to the plans involves proposed architecture and building materials, according to Board documents.

"Chase has been a staple in our community for many, many years," Trustee Rose Reynders said. "This is actually not an additional bank moving into Homer Glen, this is basically just a move from one side of the street to the other."
Chase currently operates a location within the Homer Glen Jewel Osco.

"I've been on board with this from the beginning, I did not want to see a vacant building sitting there, and I'm very happy that they've taken the opportunity to come back before us," Reynders said.
Market Director of Real Estate for Chase Bank Jonathan Krissoff said the lease at the Jewel location expires later this year, and that the location is a "transaction-only branch," and doesn't provide full service.
Krissoff said the property owner has also indicated they would donate $35,000 to the Village's Ability Awareness Committee. Village Attorney Michael Pasquinelli later said Trustees were to expressly exclude the donation as part of their consideration for the vote on the plans.
Trustee Mike LePore asked if Chase intends to purchase the property outright, and Krissoff said that it does.
"Originally, I wasn't a big fan of a Chase bank in that location," LePore said, adding he'd rather see a restaurant.
The former Chili's restaurant at the location closed in December 2024.
"With this new information, there's very little the Board can do to stop you from operating a Chase bank at that location if you purchase the property outright," LePore said. "Not what I originally wanted, but at this point, I'd rather be an ally to a business looking to expand in Homer Glen than an adversary."
Trustee Curtis Mason also said he was not a proponent of the plans in the beginning, saying he would like to see a different business there.
"I also would not like to see the building sit empty," he added.
Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike said [the previous denial] was nothing against Chase Bank, but about tax-generating revenue and another place for residents to eat.
The plans were approved by the Board, with Trustee Robert Schaller as the sole 'no' vote.
